CAN DO, Incorporated is a private nonprofit economic development organization that has been serving the Greater Hazleton, PA area since the 1950s.  As part of its business model, CAN DO Inc., owns and operates the potable water systems in several industrial parks and the waste water treatment systems that serve the 3000 acre Humboldt Industrial Park.

Position Information

CAN DO is seeking one (1) full time Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or Trainee for its Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) in the Humboldt Industrial Park.  This position is responsible for operating the WWTP and the collection/conveyance systems in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal environmental regulations. Work hours may include nights, weekends and legal holidays as required to support the operations. Normal work hours are M-F from 7am to 3:30pm and every other weekend.   This is an hourly position.  This position will also assist in maintaining potable water systems under direction of a license water operator.

Minimum Job Requirements:

o   Pennsylvania Class C or higher wastewater operator license

o   Professional experience in the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant

o   High School graduate or GED

o   Must pass a employment physical, criminal background check and drug screening

o   Applicant must possess a valid Pennsylvania Drivers License, and have a good driving record
