System
Membership is the voting membership in the Association and shall be State Associations
consisting of Water and Wastewater districts, Non-Profit Corporations, Public
Trusts, Cooperative Associations, Municipalities 15,000 and under population,
and Local Government Authorities, and other similar organizations engaged in the
distribution and/or development and treatment or water or collection and
treatment of wastewater for the benefit of rural residents.
WHY SHOULD I JOIN? The
rural water, wastewater, and solid waste industry face many challenges now and
in the future due to increasingly complex regulations. These regulations place
an increasing technical and financial burden on small communities and systems.
Rural communities and systems must stay informed to keep up with changing laws
and regulations governing their systems. Operators, managers, board members, and
owners must maintain an adequate level of training to deal with these changes.
PRWA offers numerous services and education opportunities in order to make this
possible. We welcome communities and utilities to join our association.
All
water and wastewater systems of 15,000 or less are eligible to join as voting
members. Larger systems can join as non-voting members.
