WASHINGTON DC
FLY-IN AND WATER RALLY
Pennsylvania Rural Water Association works hard to bring federal tax dollars
back to Pennsylvania to support rural water and wastewater utilities. The
Veteran’s Affairs and Housing and Urban Development Bill under the
Environmental Protection Agency finance rural water training and technical
assistance and the groundwater protection program. The United States Department
of Agriculture Bill finance the circuit rider and source water protection
programs, as well as funding rural water loans and grants. PRWA, together with
all rural water associations in the country, lobby Congress for the
appropriation levels that make USDA loans and grants directly available to small
systems as well as allow PRWA to continue and improve our programs to serve
rural water systems in Pennsylvania.
While in Washington DC
PRWA also participates in
the “Great American Water Taste Test” at the NRWA Water Rally annually. The winner
of the PRWA “Pride of Pennsylvania” contest at
our annual conference is taken to Washington DC every year to compete. Bring your
water and let's win in Washington DC!
