We shall discuss surge effects of trapped air in a pipeline and the health and safety effects resulting from negative pipeline pressure. The presentation will clearly show how proper air valve sizing and location can affect vaporous cavity formation, , and its effect on pipeline in both lab and field conditions. It will present methods and new understanding of surge and surge protection.
