The primary purpose of this course is to review the various chemicals and feed equipment used in ground and surface water treatment. Students will be directed on the need for safety measures and the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) when handling various chemicals. Chemical feed calculations will be covered like detention time, feed rate, chemical active strength, and theoretical pump output. Students will be introduced to the concept of jar testing and pump calibrations. This workshop provides experienced operators with a review of chemical addition and new operators with study materials for the chemical addition (subclass 8) certification exam.
