This role is under the direction of the Field Supervision and is responsible the operations of the remote water and wastewater systems located within the Roaring Creek (RC) division. The work schedule will be Wednesday through Sunday, with days off on Monday and Tuesday.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Operation of remote water and wastewater systems located within the Roaring Creek Division.
Responsible for regulatory compliance and reporting for the RC remote sites, and responsible for monitoring operations including utilizing SCADA.
Emergency response including after hours, as required.
Responsible for utilizing customer service and asset management software and work order systems.
Responsible for monitoring capital projects at remote sites.
Addresses complaints and resolves issues within the area of responsibility.
Respond to maintenance problems with appropriate action and understand process / equipment alternatives, including troubleshooting operational problems and coordinating repairs with outside contractors and Aqua staff.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance.
Observant of operational conditions and / or pending problems, demonstrate environmental awareness.
Ability to work independently exercising knowledge, skill, and professionalism while making decisions affecting the treatment process.
Abide by all Aqua policies and procedures.
Perform all tasks safely, professionally, and in accordance with all local, state, federal laws, rules, and guidelines.
Maintain a professional and effective working relationship with Aqua staff and customers.
Attend training events and seminars to keep current with regulatory changes, become familiar with new technology, and keep current with Operator Continuing Education requirements.
Additional duties based on needs, experience, licensure, and skills may be required.
EDUCATIONAL & QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must have a minimum of 2 years of field experience at a utility or related industry.
Must have the ability to operate a cell phone and tablet device.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
Must be able to lift and move equipment in excess of 75 lbs. and the ability to work in confined space.
Must reside within 30 minutes of Boiling Springs, PA.
Facility Operator Trainee - Must currently possess a valid PA Waste Water System Operator general examination and at least one of the required subclasses within 24 months of employment.
Facility Operator I - Must currently possess a valid PA Waste Water System Operator Class C or above and one subclass license.
Facility Operator II - Must currently possess both a valid PA Class C or above Water AND a PA Class C or above Waste Water license.
Facility Operator III - Must currently possess both a valid PA Class C or above with all the required subclasses Water AND a PA Class C or above with all the required subclasses Waste Water license.
