Wastewater engineer wanted

The Norristown Municipal Waste Authority is seeking a full-time qualified civil engineer

Duties include preparation of reports for both the authority and regulatory agencies. Provide oversight and assistance to local developers and contractors for work being done that impacts the wastewater treatment plant or collection system. Provide oversight, guidance, and assistance to the authority staff relative to WWTP and collection system operations and projects. Oversee and coordinate staff professionals and contactors as needed. Other duties as assigned by the executive director or plant superintendent.

This position is a first shift non-union position that may require some after hours and on-call work as needed.

Qualifications:

College degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related discipline

3 years’ experience in project management or project engineering related to wastewater conveyance and processing

Basic understanding of industry standard software utilized in water conveyance and water treatment projects

Familiarity with wastewater treatment process control

Clearly demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through various electronic methods including but not limited to email, text, and project management tools

Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, climb, and work in tight spaces throughout the day

Some lifting and carrying required

Familiar with the use and implementation of safe work practices
