Water/Wastewater Operator / Maintenance Technician
Full Time Operator/Maintenance Technician Wanted
The Bedford Township Municipal Authority is seeking to hire a full-time maintenance technician/operator for their water and wastewater system.
Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; a valid PA driver’s license with clean record (CDL with at least a class B endorsement is preferred); certification in or knowledge of water and/or wastewater systems is preferred; ability to perform physical tasks and lift 50-75 lbs regularly; general knowledge of and ability to use equipment and power tools; general mechanical and plumbing knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot and repair issues; willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; and basic computer skills. Must be willing to work occasional weekends and holidays and be available after normal business hours for emergency repairs. Applicant must be willing to attend and participate in educational training seminars and must possess the ability to obtain and maintain any required state and local certifications as dictated by the Authority.
Applicants shall list their previous employment history, provide criminal record if applicable and provide three references with contact info, of which at least two should be professional. Prior to hiring, an initial drug test is required and random drug tests thereafter.
