Non-Transient Non-Community (NT/NC) Membership is available to any public water supplier categorized as NT/NC.  NT/NC Members are non-voting and ineligible to hold a position on the Board of Directors or as an officer of Pennsylvania Rural Water Association (PRWA).

What is a Public Water Supply and what category do you fall under?

Types of Public Water Supplier:

• Public Water Suppliers (PWS) serve at least 15 connections and/or 25 or more people year round.  For example: townships, boroughs, and nursing homes. If this describes your system, please see System Membership instead.
• Non-Community Supplier (NC) serve at least 5 connections and/or 25 or more people at least 60 days out of the year, but not year round.  For example: camps, retreat centers, and hotels.
• Non-Transient Non-Community Suppliers (NT/NC) serve at least 15 connections and/or 25 or more of the same people more than 6 months out of the year.  For example: daycare centers, hospitals, industrial complexes, but not year round schools.
• Transient Non-Community Suppliers (T/NC) serve at least 15 connections and/or 25 or more people, at least 60 days a year, but less than 6 months.  For example: restaurants, parks, swimming pools, and drinking fountains.

The 1996 re-authorization of the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act mandates that all Non-transient / Non-community Water Systems meet the following requirements:

• Required water testing and reporting
• Water system maintained by a state certified operator
• Meet Continuing Education requirements
• Maintain required records
• Meet system management requirements
