Lab Supervisor/Technician
The Lewisburg Area Joint Sewer Authority is hiring.
Join our dynamic team as a Laboratory Supervisor/Technician and play a vital role in Waste Water testing and compliance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead laboratory operations as well as perform testing to ensure compliance with PA DEP/EPA regulations, and contribute to innovative projects at our facility. You will be responsible for overseeing laboratory procedures and other employees authorized to perform lab duties, maintaining rigorous quality control, and supporting research initiatives. Due to the nature of our industry and our lab accreditation, a class A Waste Water license is required. Five (5) Years of Waste Water experience and three (3) years of Laboratory experience is preferred.
For the right candidate we offer excellent compensation ($30.00-$40.00 hr.), depending on experience and background.
As well as excellent pay we offer generous vacation time, 10 days of Personal time, eight paid Holidays and sick time.

Typical work week is 40 hours per week but the right candidate will be required to work an occasional weekend and holiday. Candidate will also be required to be on-call occasionally for emergency situations.
Duties
- Perform required daily and weekly laboratory tests as well as supervise daily laboratory activities by other lab techs authorized to preform testing, ensuring adherence to GLP (Good Laboratory Practice).
- Perform and oversee simple and complex laboratory techniques including microbiology.
- Must have the ability to foresee possible plant upsets and advise Management accordingly.
- Must have the ability to safely and alone within the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate data collection, record keeping, and documentation.
- Conduct required quality control assessments to verify the integrity of samples, reagents, and equipment.
- Implement and improve laboratory procedures to optimize efficiency and compliance with safety and PA DEP standards.
- Support research & development projects by preparing samples, conducting analyses, and interpreting results.
- Report all results on a weekly, monthly and annual basis to PA DEP/EPA.
- Train laboratory staff on proper techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Keep a clean safe laboratory.
- Proven experience working in an industrial or research laboratory environment with knowledge of laboratory techniques across microbiology.
- Strong understanding of GLP as it pertains to our accredited lab.
- Demonstrated ability to manage laboratory information systems effectively for data collection and analysis.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail in performing tests, experiments and maintaining records.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- A degree in biology or related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
