We are deeply saddened to share the news that current PRWA Board Member, George Crum, has suddenly passed away. George has been a board member since 2005. Please keep his wife, Lorraine, and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

George Warren Crum of Leland, NC passed away on Thursday November 30, after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 74yrs old.

George was born on October 1, 1949 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to Eileen and Harry Crum. Both preceded him in passing, along with his older brother, Michael. He was a proud and dedicated family man who leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Lorraine, 3 sons, Brian, Timothy, and Patrick, and 9 grandchildren, all of Richmond, VA.

George held many positions in his professional career, but was most recently a successful public utilities manager who served as the president of the board for the Pennsylvania Rural Water Association. Upon retirement, he was asked to continue representing Pennsylvania at the national level.

George played and enjoyed many sports growing up, and as an adult he had a passion for golf, playing several times per week up until recently. He was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan, especially Cleveland Guardians baseball.

George and Lorraine spent much of their retirement years traveling the world on several trips and cruises, in between spending time with their beloved friends, neighbors, and family.

At the wishes of George, the family will not be holding a public memorial service, and instead will celebrate privately at a place of their choosing that they know he would appreciate and love. The family requests that in lieu of flowers or memorials, friends can think and reflect on their best memories of George.
