Collection System Maintainer

The Silver Spring Township Authority is presently accepting applications for Collection System Maintainer.  This individual is responsible for assisting in all facets of maintaining the sewer collection system and will be required to perform various other tasks within the collection system and the wastewater treatment plant.  The candidate will be required to obtain a PA Class E Collection System license within one year of hire and a PA Class B Commercial Driver’s License within 1 year of hire.  The ability to take direction and work in a team environment as well as independently is essential in fulfilling the requirements of this position.  Experience in wastewater facility operations is not necessary but will be preferred.

Minimum requirements for application include the possession of a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, and the ability to undertake and complete the responsibilities of the post both under direction and independently.  Applicants must live within 30 minutes-drive time of Silver Spring Township or be willing to relocate within that distance upon hiring.  Wages for this position are to start at $23 per hour with a possible higher rate if the licensure previously mentioned is already possessed by the applicant.  The SSTA is willing to train for this position, but preference shall be given those applicants that possess a Pennsylvania Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsement or higher license.
