This course provides water utility personnel with an understanding of the root causes of electrical hazards commonly encountered during water line work. Participants will learn to recognize electrical hazards, understand the risks of electrical shock, and apply safe work practices, protective procedures, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to reduce those risks. The course also reviews the hazards associated with thawing frozen metallic water pipes using high-current electrical equipment.
