Overview of Portable Pumps and Generators

The purpose of this course is to provide operators and distribution/collection crews with basic information on pumps, including electric principals and safety – volts, amps & watts; hydraulics – flow, elevation, distance; reading pump curves and bypass pumping methods. Basic information on generators will include electrical safety, dangers of carbon monoxide emittance, proper
maintenance and exercising, and the sizing of generators to meet demand. The course will also include a hands-on segment.
